According to this article from the New York Times, uncertainty about the ability to take College Admission Tests in a conventional classroom, during the Corona Virus Pandemic, is driving the College Board (the folks that bring you the SAT) and their competitor ACT to speed up the development of digital versions of their tests, that can be taken at home – online.
These online versions of the tests may be needed as early as this fall. Both companies have been working on this option for years, trying to find ways to overcome the most serious concerns: addressing inequality, maintaining privacy, and ensuring the integrity of the tests.
